Thermal Performance Assessment for an Active Latent Heat Storage Tank by Using Various Finned-Coil Heat Exchangers

چکیده
Paraffin-based latent heat storage has a higher thermal capacity than sensible storage. Despite that, the actual implementation of paraffin as an active (ALHS) system is limited due to low charging and discharging rate with unequal temperature distribution impact mushy region formation. The present study evaluates finned-coil exchanger for ALHS tank overcome related problems. Three configurations are tested experimentally: straight-fin, branched-fin height-fin. evaluation uses arrangement assess each configuration's charging/discharging rate. branched fin provides equal distribution, promoting final 112.3°C. It also achieves highest power 250.5 Watts. height-fin minimizes effect void formation, which maintains sufficient transfer during discharging. However, average model relatively low. finding indicates that it essential provide adequate center part tank, including adding along coil turn better boosts rate, making system's response time desirable achieve effective operation.

Thermal Performance of Borehole Heat Exchangers
An important issue in the design of systems using borehole heat exchangers is to find costeffective methods to construct the borehole heat exchanger so that heat can be injected or extracted from the ground without excessive temperature differences between the heat carrier fluid and the surrounding ground. This paper presents an overview of experiences and current activities in this field.
متن کاملFull Analysis of Low Finned Tube Heat Exchangers
In this paper, first the governing parameters characterizing low-finned tubes are reviewed. Second, the more important of the available performance correlations are compared with the available experimental data. The most reliable one can be employed to develop a pressure drop relationship, which has already been used in an algorithm for exchanger sizing. Also a means for the identification of a...
متن کاملThermal performance of two heat exchangers for thermoelectric generators
The thermal performance of a heat exchanger is important for the potential application in an integrated solar cell/module and thermoelectric generator (TEG) system. Usually, the thermal performance of a heat exchanger for TEGs is analysed by using 1D heat conduction theory which ignores the detailed phenomena associated with thermo-hydraulics. In this paper, thermal and momentum transports in t...
متن کاملFriction Loss and Heat Transfer Coefficient in Finned Tube Heat Exchangers for Reheating Massecuites
Equations developed for packed columns may be used to predict the overall heat transfer coefficient and friction loss in massecuite reheaters. The results seem to indicate that exchangers with the tubes staggered give higher heat transfer rates than those with the tubes in line.
